Walk the Labyrinth with the Sacred Path Community

The Sacred Path Community (SPC) will host a public walk through the labyrinth at the James A. Michener Art Museum, in Doylestown, at 10 a.m., July 22. Erected this year at the corner of Pine and Ashland Streets, the labyrinth is the result of a recent revival of interest in sacred arts, ceremonies and rituals. SPC selected July 22 because it falls on the day of the Full Thunder Moon (so called because of July thunderstorms), or Buck Moon, a name given by the Algonquian Native Americans in recognition of the time of year when bucks grow new antlers.

Enthusiasts value the labyrinth as a symbolic, nature-based form of pilgrimage that allows for personal reflection and meditation, often with intent towards enlightenment. SPC has been walking labyrinths for three years, with members reporting such results as clarity about personal objectives and peace of mind through alignment with spiritual energies.

SPC regularly holds spiritually based gatherings the first three Sundays of every month at the Plumsteadville Grange, 5901 Easton Road, in Plumsteadville.

Cost: free. Location: 138 S. Pine St., Doylestown. For more information, e-mail [email protected].
