Dave Conrardy is a man transformed. He is a man who saved his own life. He is a man who lost 200 pounds and, in the process, gained health, hope and the knowledge to help others change their lives.

In 2006, Dave weighed 430 pounds. He had diabetes, acid reflux disease, kidney problems and took 19 prescription medications. Living the life of a typical trucker, Dave spent his days stuck behind the wheel of his big rig, stopping only to eat high fat, high sugar, processed foods. He ate three pounds of meat each day, addicted to what he calls ‘SAD’ – the Standard American Diet. But he wasn’t happy. Doctors told him his health was headed “all downhill.” Dave felt like his life was over.

It wasn’t. Instead, Dave met two new trucking students, David and Judith Whiting. When Dave shared his concerns about his health, the Whitings offered him some life-changing suggestions. Soon, Dave became committed to a raw food diet and watched the pounds disappear and his health blossom. After losing 230 pounds and giving up 18 of his 19 prescriptions, Dave transformed not only his health, but his life. He was no longer an obese trucker. He was ‘Dave the Raw Food Trucker,’ a co-sponsor of the Raw Food World Conference in Ecuador in 2011, creator of the Annual Day of Juicing, and a coach to more than 100 people on their journey to health.

Now, Dave Conrardy, along with wellness coaches David and Judith Whiting are sharing their stories as part of a national speaking tour that includes a stop in BucksCounty on March 28. Sponsored by Natural Awakenings of Bucks and Montgomery counties and the Nourished Community, the event will include an informal meeting with the trio at 6 p.m., a speaking engagement at 6:30 p.m., and a question and answer session to follow. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve.

“It is my deepest desire to get the word out through knowledge that will inspire and guide people in achieving optimal health, vitality and longevity,” said Conrardy. He hopes to encourage those suffering from disease and obesity to change. After all, he knows change is possible. He’s living proof.

Cost: $15 pre-registration; $20 at the door. Location: The Chip Factory 7034 Easton Road, Pipersville, PA 18947*. To register, go to thenourishedcommunity.com/event-the-raw-food-trucker-live. For more information, visit NABuxMont.com or email [email protected].
