Yoga Loka Offers Free Classes at Open House

Yoga Loka will hold its twelfth annual open house in Frenchtown, New Jersey, from 1 to 8 p.m., January 3. Newcomers to yoga as well as enthusiasts to the ancient practice can spend a day experiencing what yoga and other self-improvement techniques can inspire at free events and classes.

There will be yoga classes at various levels as well as yoga for back care, an introduction to meditation and a talk on the healing benefits of tai chi with Judi Hason—including a sample tai chi class that all may participate in. Janise Nelson will present a talk on the medical benefits of yoga and Bonnie Pariser, owner and senior presenter at Yoga Loka, will present on tension- and trauma-releasing exercises.

Throughout the day, visitors can sign up for future workshops and purchase class blocks at deeply discounted prices. There will be drawings for hourly door prizes. Mats and other props will be available at the studio for those who need them.

A certified yoga therapist, Pariser has introduced Structural Yoga Therapy to hundreds of people at New York City’s Open Center, Kripalu Center in the Berkshires, Ananda Ashram in New York and yoga schools in Philadelphia and elsewhere.
