Academy of Massage Therapy to Host Open House for Practitioners-to-Be

Academy of Massage Therapy & Bodyworks (AMTB) will host an open house from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., January 11, at 141 East High Street, in Pottstown. The program is designed for anyone interested in learning more about attending massage therapy school and will include “a day in the life” of a student enrolled in the academy’s highly regarded professional massage licensing program.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and talk with staff and instructors about becoming a licensed massage therapist in a friendly and congenial environment. Students enrolled at AMTB study anatomy and physiology, massage theory and history, and they gain experience practicing Swedish and therapeutic massage.

Students also become familiar with other modalities such as sports massage, reflexology, pregnancy massage and medical massage. Business principles and practices, client/practitioner relationships and medications are also a part of the comprehensive curriculum. Upon completion of the 600-hour course, graduates will receive a diploma and will have sufficient knowledge and skills to be able to become a Pennsylvania State Licensed Massage Therapist.

AMTB’s special guest teachers, small class size, flexible program schedules, affordable tuition and payment plans have made it a leader in the area for professional massage training and continuing education. The school is helmed by founders Angela Pio Wagner and James Funk, whose desire is to educate and train dedicated individuals to provide the healing power of massage therapy, bodywork and touch therapy.
