Help for Depression Is Within Reach

Highlighting a commitment to holistic community health and the treatment of depression, the nonprofit New Vitae Wellness Foundation will host a free event at 7 p.m. on October 5, at Quakertown Community High School, located at 600 Park Avenue, in Quakertown. Author and behavioral health advocate Kevin Hines, who survived a suicide attempt after jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge, will talk about achieving personal wellness and destroying the stigma associated with accessing behavioral health services. Everyone is welcome to attend, but preregistration is required.

New Vitae Wellness and Recovery is committed to providing person-first behavioral health services to support adults and their families. Individualized services include a variety of choices for treatment of depression and other mood disorders, including traditional talk therapies and medication management as well as cutting-edge alternatives. Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (dTMS) and Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation (CES) are offered for those seeking holistic options to treat depressive symptoms. These non-invasive, FDA-cleared services stimulate parts of the brain that contribute to depression, providing relief for those that prefer to avoid antidepressant drug therapy. These evidence-based services have been shown to be safe, effective and non-addictive ways to treat depression.

New Vitae Wellness and Recovery’s clinical experts utilize a strength-based, trauma-informed lens to serve veterans, young adults, the LGBT community and those with long-term diagnoses or shorter-term support needs.

Business location: 16 S. Main St., Quakertown. To pre-register for event, call 610-928-0173. For more information about the variety of services offered, call 610-965-9021 or visit NewVitaeWellness.com.
