Experience Yourself in the Labyrinth at Greenshire Arts

Connie Fenty, M.Ed., Labyrinth Specialist, will present two workshops about the history and mystery of this ancient symbol. From 1 to 4:30 p.m., on October 9, participants will create a seven-path labyrinth and walk its path. Two weeks later, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., on October 23, they will discover how the labyrinth can be used for conflict resolution and explore the Native American belief that every decision must be based on what effect it will have for seven generations into the future. This experience will culminate outdoors with a labyrinth partner walk.

Labyrinths have long been used as a model of life’s path of transformation, representing the journey to one’s own center and back again out into the world. This enables individuals to expand their vision of what is possible, shaping their life’s story into one that portrays inner truth.

Connie Fenty has long shared her love of the Earth and passion for peace, inspiring individuals to spend more time in nature where they can realize personal healing, wisdom, serenity and wholeness. As a member of the International Labyrinth Society, Fenty has been an annual presenter at conferences held all over the country, and she presently serves on the society’s board of directors. Her originally designed “Common Ground Labyrinth” was selected by the Labyrinth Society to be included in its entry to the World Trade Center Memorial Competition.
