300-Hour Reflexology Training Program Begins in February

Essential Connections Reflexology & Reiki will offer a Reflexology Practitioner 150-hour Foundations course from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., every Thursday, February through June. The program aims to provide practitioners with a firm foundation and knowledge of reflexology, while empowering them to welcome the intuitive side of holistic practice.

“It’s about producing practitioners with the critical thinking and openness to be able to grow into their own abilities,” says Tracy McGovern, program director and founder of Essential Connections Reflexology & Reiki, of Quakertown.

The practitioner program is designed in two parts to allow students to begin working in the field as soon as possible, while also having the chance to complete the national requirements of the full 300-hour curriculum.

The daytime schedule is ideal for stay-at-home parents, students or individuals that may be in a career or life transition. A weekend course will start in September for those for whom the daytime program is not ideal.

Discussion and information regarding the business side of a holistic practice is a part of the program for those planning to create their own practice, work for others or even apply their skills to friends and family.

“When I started practicing 17 years ago, people didn’t know what reflexology was,” admits McGovern. “Now, we are seeing oncologists, chiropractors and other holistic practitioners that are understanding and recommending the practice. This is exciting for clients and also for practitioners that are interested in having a skill that’s in demand.”
