Free Trauma and Addiction Training Co-Sponsored by Leading Treatment Centers

New Vitae Wellness Foundation and Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers are partnering to present a free training on trauma and addiction, featuring groundbreaking techniques that can be used by therapists to treat patients suffering from addiction. This presentation takes place on August 10 at the Lehigh Valley Health Network – Cedar Crest auditorium, in Allentown. Registration, networking and a continental breakfast begin at 8 a.m., with the presentation taking place from 9 to 11 a.m.

Joseph Troncale, M.D., Retreat’s corporate medical director, will discuss dealing with the trauma associated with triggering addictive behavior. A dedicated practitioner in the field of addiction for the past 35 years, Troncale is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and is board certified in Addiction Medicine and Family Medicine. Troncale has authored numerous articles published in medical journals and was named Outstanding Clinician by Addiction Magazine in 2010.

Retreat provides a compassionate and spiritual environment in which those affected by addiction can begin the journey to recovery through enlightenment and education. New Vitae Wellness Foundation, a nonprofit organization, provides educational and other life supports to improve the health and well-being of the community.

Supporting partners of this training are New Vitae The Mitchell Clinic and Marywood University. New Vitae The Mitchell Clinic is licensed by the Pennsylvania Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, as well as by the Division of Drug and Alcohol Programs, and offers a full continuum of behavioral health and substance abuse intensive care services.
