The arrival of spring is generally heralded as a welcome event – temperatures rise, flowers bloom, flu season ends and we all get to spend more time outdoors. Yet for seasonal allergy sufferers, spring can be something else entirely – the season for sneezin’. Bringing endlessly itchy eyes, runny noses and scratchy throats, spring can become a season to dread.
To help allergy sufferers start looking forward to spring again, Natural Awakenings of Bucks and Montgomery counties will host a seasonal allergy forum from 7 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, March 20, at DoylestownHospital’s Health and WellnessCenter. The free event will feature three local experts: Dr. Philip A. Pappas, Ph.D., who specializes in nutrition and biofeedback; Lisa Rhodes, L.Ac., a holistic care practitioner; and Dr. Julie Lachman, N.D., a naturopath. The panel will be moderated by Mark Hurwich, founder of Concentrated Coaching.
Coinciding with the first day of spring, the event will help explain why seasonal allergies occur, and offer natural solutions for both prevention and treatment. Afterwards, audience members can consult with the International School of Shiatsu, Trinity Acupuncture, and Soleil Kitchen about natural options for seasonal allergy relief. Truly Pure and Natural and Greco Family Chiropractic will offer free giveaways.
Through exploring natural options and discussing integrative and complementary medicine approaches, this event offers solutions to allergy sufferers and can restore spring to what it was meant to be – a season to celebrate.
