Dr. Wendy Warner, owner of Medicine in Balance, has started a healthy living food group for people that are interested in learning to eat more healthfully, as well as to build a community of like-minded eaters. The free potluck is held from 7 to 9 p.m., the first Tuesday of every month, in the Medicine in Balance office, in Langhorne. Each meeting comprises the sharing of food and recipes, along with a discussion centered on healthy eating topics. Past subjects include gluten-free eating, making fermented foods, and the health benefits of chocolate and tea. The health benefits of Mediterranean diets will be discussed in July.
Warner, a medical doctor board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and holistic medicine, has a passion for eating well. She is an Usui Reiki master practitioner, co-author of the book, Boosting Your Immunity for Dummies and producer of the DVD, Menopause: It’s all about Choices. Warner was elected president of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine in 2007 and has worked extensively with the American Holistic Medical Association and the American Board of Holistic Medicine.
