Silver Lake Nature Fest Returns
Silver Lake Nature Center will host the sixth annual Silver Lake Nature Fest from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., October 12. Designed to enhance our connections with nature and to encourage sustainability in our local community, the event features nature-based activities including a live animal show produced by the Mercer County Wildlife Center, local artisans and vendors promoting green products and ideas and educational displays from local nonprofit environmental groups. Live music and delicious food complete the festivities.
New for the event, the center’s Watershed Education Building will be open. Constructed on-site with recycled materials and volunteer labor, it is one of only a few East Coast examples of the radically sustainable Earthship Biotecture building design.
Location: 1306 Bath Rd., Bristol. For more information, call 215-785-1177 or visit SilverLakeNatureCenter.org, October 2013
