Garden Gala to Benefit Woodland Restoration

The Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve will hold its “Wild About Flowers” Spring Garden Gala from 5 to 10 p.m., April 26, at the Preserve in New Hope. All money raised at the gala will benefit post-storm woodland restoration and planting of new trees at the preserve.

This year, the evening will be a celebration of the Preserve’s spectacular collection of native trees. Festivities include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction at the pavilion, followed by a dinner featuring locally grown and organic selections. A spirited live auction and dancing round out the affair. Guests are encouraged to dress in “black tie and muck boots” and are invited to explore the spring beauty of woodland wildflowers during an outdoor walk led by naturalists.

Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve is a nonprofit working to inspire the appreciation and use of native plants by serving as a sanctuary and educational resource for conservation and stewardship. The 134-acre nature preserve, botanical garden and accredited museum is located within the Washington Crossing Historic Park.

Cost: $185. Location: 1635 River Rd., New Hope. For more information or to receive an invitation, call 215-862-2924, email [email protected] or visit bhwp.org. April 2014.
