DIY - Whipped Body Butter: Easy, just 4 ingredients!
While I used a Blendtec for this, it couldn't be easier to make your own with a blender and hand mixer.
INGREDIENTS:
1 C. Pure Unrefined Shea Butter 1 C. Organic Cold Pressed Coconut Oil 1 Tbsp. Jojoba Oil 2 Tbsp. Vegetable Glycerin (optional)
Note: I used vegetable glycerine as our family's skin is notoriously dry in the winter. You can opt to leave this out.
PREPARATION:
Place all ingredients in the blender and process until smooth, as you want to break up the chunks of shea butter. You want a nice, smooth finished product.
From here, I stuck the whole blender jar into the freezer. If you can't do this, you can put the mixture into a mixing bowl and into the fridge or freezer to cool until solid.
Using a stand mixer or hand mixer with the whisk attachment, whisk cooled mixture until it takes on a whipped consistency similar to whipped cream. Again I used my Blendtec on the whip setting. Essential oils if you choose.
Put the whipped butter into your chosen container with a lid. Store in a cool place as it will become liquid again if it gets too warm.
Enjoy and apply liberally after showering or whenever your skin is dry.
