The Himalayan Institute (HI) is partnering with Moondog Yoga Studio, in Quakertown, to offer a comprehensive and in-depth teacher training program, beginning at 6 p.m., September 25. Moondog teachers and HI faculty will deepen participants’ understanding of the yoga tradition, expand personal yoga practice and help them discover their full potential as a yoga teacher.
Drawing from ancient yoga theory and modern knowledge of the body and mind, the training will cover lifestyle guidelines, postures, breath training, sense withdrawal, concentration, meditation and self-realization. Participants will be eligible to apply for the 500-hour level of registration with Yoga Alliance, upon certification by the HI.
“It’s a living tradition. The teachers that we’re studying with actually studied with Himalayan masters,” says June Hunt, owner of Moondog Yoga Studio. “This training is very deeply steeped in philosophy as living yoga and the yoga lifestyle. There’s a transformation that takes place in their lives.”
Dedicated to a tradition of excellence in teaching for almost 40 years, HI is an international, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving humanity through educational, spiritual and humanitarian programs, as well as a leader in the fields of yoga, meditation, spirituality and holistic health.
