Farm Fresh Film Series Continues with the Doylestown Food Market
Ground Operations is an award-winning documentary and social action campaign that champions the growing network of combat veterans transitioning into careers as sustainable farmers, ranchers and artisan food producers. The campaign is aimed at helping military veterans interested in farming to get started and build their resources. Ground Operations works to support veterans that wish to create healthy new lives for themselves and food security for communities across the United States.
“We are very proud to be hosting this event,” says Emily Boell, coordinator of the Organic Farming Certificate Program that is offered in partnership between DelVal and the Rodale Institute. “We encourage anyone in the community that is interested in organic agriculture, local food and our veterans to join us.” There will be a panel discussion following the film that includes California-based filmmaker and director Dulanie Ellis and two local veterans that farm.
The event is open to the public and guests do not need to register in advance. There is no charge for DelVal faculty, staff, students or veterans.
Cost: $10 for the public, $8 for Doylestown Food Market members. Location: Admission entrance, off of New Britain Rd., Doylestown. For more information, visit GroundOperations.net.
