Samsel Integrative Health, an integrative chiropractic practice, recently opened its office in Langhorne. With a focus on holistic care and applied kinesiology (AK), they correct physical, nutritional and emotional imbalances and teach lifestyle changes to prevent future recurrences.
Founder and chiropractic physician Katie Samsel works with her clients to discover what’s causing the problem, and she then uses a variety of tools to help them through the healing process. “In addition to the more traditional chiropractic evaluation, I utilize techniques such as AK and Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnosis to understand the root cause of the issue. Through the use of non-invasive muscle testing, AK helps us to identify a connection between a symptom and the underlying cause. There might be a nutritional deficiency or emotional component that’s manifesting itself via back pain,” says Samsel. Traditionally, AK evaluates the structural, chemical and mental aspects of health for a holistic overview.
As a complement to chiropractic care, the office offers a range of services including corrective exercises, lifestyle advice, spinal and postural screenings, nutritional counseling and massage therapy. “Chiropractic care, in conjunction with healthy eating and exercise, is great for maintaining overall health. It is a drug-free way to combat the aches and pains that our stressful lifestyles may throw our way. Regular chiropractic care can help prevent many issues by removing nerve interference, or subluxations, which allows the body to heal itself,” says Samsel.
In addition to being certified in AK, Samsel is certified in the Brimhall technique and pulse diagnosis, and she is well-versed in Kinesio Taping, a taping method designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process, giving support to muscles and joints without restricting normal range of motion.
Samsel offers, “I believe that care should be personalized, and I work with my clients to tailor a chiropractic and wellness program specifically targeted to their needs using the least invasive, yet highly effective, techniques and services.”
