Doylestown Food Market Celebrates “Growing” Potential with Third Annual Farm to Table Dinner
“The Doylestown Food Market Farm to Table Dinner is a wonderful way to sample the bounty of Bucks County while meeting new friends and learning more about our locavore efforts with existing friends,” says Farm to Table Dinner regular Patrick Kennedy, owner of Superior Woodcraft, in Doylestown.
The Farm to Table Celebrity Chef for 2017 is Matt McPhelin of Maize Restaurant, in Perkasie, who cultivated his skills in several of Philadelphia’s award-winning restaurants before opening Maize in 2009. This year, he will dazzle dinner guests with innovative recipes based on fresh, seasonal ingredients from Bucks County farms.
“It’s fun to come together with like-minded people to share and celebrate the local harvest,” says Doylestown resident Jean Cauller. “This dinner shows how creative you can be using local food… and how much better it tastes.”
The annual Farm to Table Dinner is the biggest fundraiser for Doylestown Food Market, a member-owned grocery store that provides convenient access to a variety of locally raised or produced foods and other products. In addition to local food and beverages, the evening will feature The Cherry Lane Jazz Band and live and silent auctions.
The Doylestown Food Market is in the process of implementing big changes in order to better serve the needs of its customers, producers and the community. To learn more about future plans, friends and members are encouraged to attend this special event.
Cost: $95; $75 for Doylestown Food Market members. Location: Bucks County Audubon Society at Honey Hollow, 2877 Creamery Rd., New Hope. For more information and to purchase tickets, email John LaSala at [email protected] or visit FarmToTable.Doylestown.coop.
