Weavers Way Ambler Opens Doors to Community
Highlights of the new store include a café seating area, a full-service butcher, a large bulk department and a vast prepared foods selection, including roasted chickens, house-made soups, hot bar, salad bar and made-to-order sandwiches.
The Weavers Way Co-op manages two other store locations in the Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy sections of Philadelphia. More than 7,000 member households, including about 800 from the Ambler area, shop at and jointly own the Weavers Way Co-op stores, which are open to members and non-members alike. Unlike traditional grocery stores, when individuals shop at Weavers Way, the money stays local through its partnerships with local farmers, producers and community organizations.
Current Weavers Way Co-op members and anyone with questions about the new store’s progress or membership are encouraged to stop by the temporary office, located at 131 East Butler Avenue, in Ambler, to pick up a free lawn sign and t-shirt, and to learn how they can help spread the word about the opening. Weavers Way staff are most reliably stationed there from noon to 2 p.m., Tuesday to Friday, as well as many other hours of the day.
Location: 217 E. Butler Ave., Ambler. For more information, visit WeaversWay.coop.
