Non-Narcotic Pain Treatment Available for Veterans
A new, FDA-cleared medical device is uniquely suited for treating military veterans in chronic pain. Beneficial side effects include reducing PTSD, anxiety, depression, migraine, sleep disorders and more. Dr. Stephen Kroth, a neuromusculoskeletal specialist serving the veteran population, and Jennifer Frey, director of patient education and outreach at NuCell Regenerative Health, in Narberth, have joined forces to raise awareness within the veteran community and among the VA physicians that care for them.
Kroth observes, “This specific neurostimulator device is proven to treat chronic pain. It is a cost-effective option for relief for anyone, but especially for our veteran population. Our veterans are not only deserving of the best options, but they are also especially vulnerable to the damaging results of long-term narcotic use.”
NuCell works cooperatively with veterans and their VA physicians. Frey says, “We have great results with veterans and have positive support from their VA physicians, who also want to see fewer opioid prescriptions. Patients receiving treatment at NuCell can utilize their Medicare coverage, so the cost to the VA is zero. It’s beneficial all around and a win-win for everyone.”
